Generic Thriller

A serial killer...an array of victims...not exactly the kind of day Steven had in mind. A post-modern farce that brilliantly blends style, drama and absurdist comedy, Generic Thriller follow Steven, a young, handsome and gay theatre professor, out to write a plain, old thriller—yet finds his work taken over by a runaway cast. Not only does Steven's eclectic cast prove challenging to work with, but each character seems to think their own individual story is far superior to what they have been given. When Mr. Vertigo—a character named after Steven's sixth grade teacher (and former lover) —starts taking on an existence and mind of his own, Steven completely loses control of his creation. Add the serial killer running amok and Steven may just be pushed to the brink of insanity. An engaging and original vision with equal parts John Waters and Fellini, Generic Thriller shines a brazenly satirical light on search for identity in a contemporary society.
